Charith Asalanka 52 runs off 56 balls and Chamika Karunaratne’s quickfire 30 runs off 32 balls contributed towards Sri Lanka reaching 254 runs off its 50 overs. Richard Ngarava bowled best for the visitors to pick up 2 wickets for 46 runs.
Lethal opening bowling from Dushmantha Chameera and M Theekshana put Zimbabwe in the back foot from the start with 3 wickets falling for just 20 runs. T Kaitano top scored with 19 runs before he got stumped by Vandersay. Vandersay weaved magic today picking up 4 wickets for 10 runs (off 7.4 overs). Ramesh Mendis picked up 2 for 26 off 4 overs. A dismal performance by Zimbabwe saw them wrapped up for just 70 runs in 24.4 overs.
