COLOMBO : Dhammika Attygalle was elected uncontested as the President of Automobile Association of Ceylon at its 120th Annual General Meeting held at the AAA headquarters recently.
Attygalle, who is a board member of the National Council for Road Safety,is also a Director of Upali Group of Companies and Chief Basnayake Nilame of Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara.
Attygalle and the office-bearers were elected for a four year period from 2025 to 2029.
Ananda Dangalla and S. V. Ganesh were also appointed uncontested as Vice Presidents.
In addition Dampiya Banagala, Prasanna De Zoysa, Lasitha Guneratne, P. H. Liyanage, Kumara Lanerolle, P. B. Kulatunga, Sisila Indraratne, S. Ravi, Priyankara Jayaratne, W. G. R. M. Farook, Indula Sumithrarachchi, Indunil Udaya, Harsha Panduwawala, Wasantha Gunasekera, Dr. Kanishka Weerasena, M. T. N. Fernando, Wickrama Punchihewa, Dilantha Malagamuwa, K. M. Samarakoon, Rajeeva Sooriyarachchi, A. P. Mirando, K. J. Batcho and Dr. Vijaya Corea were elected for the Executive Committee.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake was named as the Patron of the Association from the chair, while Sumith Adhihetty, Ajitha Pasqual, and S. Manaperuma were elected as Vice Patrons.
The Association which is incorporated by an Act in Parliament facilitate the issuance of international driving license
