COLOMBO- Former Western Province Governor and National Unity Alliance Leader Azath Salley underwent a coronary angiogram on Wednesday evening.
Salley, who has been under detention orders from March 19, was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday evening due to heart complaints. He is currently warded in the Intermediate Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICCU) at a city hospital.
Salley was arrested by the CID on March 19 and following his arrest, his wife filed a fundamental rights petition in the Supreme Court challenging the arrest on April 6.
Colombo Times learned that Salley was taken to the hospital on a complaint made by his wife through her lawyer indicating that if proper medical treatment was not given to her husband in time, his life would be in danger.
