





COLOMBO — The High Commission of Malaysia hosted the Art Exhibition of Artist Madam Zalinah, spouse of High Commissioner of Malaysia Badli Hisham Adam. Its theme was ” Malaysia : Unity in Diversity , Color of Asean” at Siam Nivasa, Colombo 7 on Monday August .
Deputy Speaker of Parliament Dr. Rizvie Salih was present as chief guest at the opening ceremony.
This Exhibition celebrates the rich and vibrant traditional decorative art through the lens of batik – a cultural heritage that combines intricate patterns, natural motifs, and storytelling on fabric and canvas. The showcased artworks reinterpret batik not only as a textile technique but also a powerful medium of artistic expression in modern decorative art.
In conjunction with Malaysia’s 68th National Day celebration and its Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2005, this exhibition aims to showcase Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage, celebrating the diversity of its multicultural and multi-ethnic society through a range of autistic expressions. The exhibition also aligns with supports the objectives of the Visit Malaysia year 2026 campaign, by promoting Malaysia’s unique cultural identity to a wider audience.
The Diplomats from Pakistan, Maldives, Qatar, Kuba, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Nepal, Libya, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Palestine, Iran, Canada and Romania were present at the event.
Sri Lanka Malaysia Business Council President Marshad Barry and Embassy Officials were also present.
This Exhibition will continue till 24th August from 10.00 a.m. to 5. 00 p.m. for the public.
