COLOMBO — The Department of Education Western Province Tamil Unit held a Islamic Cultural Ceremony and Prize Giving at the Elphinstone Theatre Colombo on Thursday November 6.
It was held under the patronage of the Provincial Department of Education Western Province Deputy Director of Education A.S. Najeeb.
Governor of the Western Province Hanif Yusoof was present as the chief guest and Deputy Minister of Religious and Cultural Affairs Muneer Mulaffer and Provincial Director of Education Western Province Mrs. M.I.D.D.C. Iddamalgoda was present as guests of honour.
Ministry of Education, Higher Education Vocational Education (Muslim Schools Development Branch ) Director of Education Major N.T. Nasumutheen and Lanka Agro Processing Pvt Ltd Chairman M.C. Bahardeen was also present.
Students presented various cultural events and chief guest, guests of honour and other guests distributed certificates to the students who took part in various cultural programmes in connection to the Islamic Cultural Day.
Education Directors, School Principals, Teachers and Students were also graced the ceremony.
