COLOMBO: The Denara Training Institute, held their first Pop-Up-Bazaar “She’s First ” promoting all Women Entrepreneurs in celebration of International Women’s Day. It was held at the Denara Training Institute premises at Mangala Gardens, Colombo 5 on Saturday February 25 from 9 am to 6 pm.h
The event was held in preparation for International Women’s Day on March 8. The main sponsors of the event were Multilac Group and the Diamonds The Denara Institute regularly organizes various projects to empower women according to their respective vocational skills.

Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia Dewi Gustina Tobing was the Chief Guest at the Opening ceremony. She was welcomed on arrival by Mrs. Fathima Aziz, Director Denara Training Institute, Mrs. Farah Fowzie, Co-Director Denara Training Institute, Mrs. Halida Shahabdeen Executive Patron All Ceylon Muslim Women’s Association, Mrs. Shahinshifa Zahir, President All Ceylon Muslim Women’s Association, Mrs. Zaeema Hashim, Chairperson, Fathima Welfare Centre and Mrs. Haadiya Galilee, Event Co-ordinator and Director of the Muslim Chorale Ensembe who escorted the Chief Guest to the Rostrum. The Welcome Address was given by Mrs. Fathima Aziz followed by an Address by Ambassador Mrs. Tobing.
There were as many as 50 stall holders selling a variety of products such as Cup Cakes, Pakistani Biriyani, Clothing, Fashion Accessories, Jewellery, and even a popular Ayurvedic Massage corner and all Vendors had brisk sales.
The afternoon saw a Cookery Demonstration by Edinburugh Products, an Entrance Ticket Draw by Mrs. Zaeema Hashim, a Vote of Thanks by Mrs. Suhaila Hussein, Gifts of Appreciation coordinated by Mrs. Farah Fowzie, a concert finale by the Choral Ensemble headed by Haadiya Galeli , concluded with the singing of the National Anthem at 6 pm.
