COLOMBO : I bow down to the feet of the Almighty Lord Shiva, the ocean of mercy, and extend my Diwali greetings to all the readers. May all sufferings be removed and all beings live happily. May the dark evil thoughts, evil forces, and evil behaviors be removed and the bright good thoughts, good forces, and good behaviors increase. This day, which the scriptures call “Naraka Chaturdashi”, is the day when sins are removed and merits increase. By praying and doing charity on the day of entry, the fear of hell will be removed. I pray to the Almighty God to grant everyone a day of divine grace, peace, and prosperity. Our country has started traveling with a new vision. We, the people of the country, have also started working with the motto of “Clean Sri Lanka”. I pray to the Almighty Lord Shiva for blessings to build a prosperous Sri Lanka free from corruption, justice, equality, security, harmony and coexistence. I extend my warmest wishes to everyone on a happy Diwali.
