COLOMBO — The Darussalam College Colombo issued a 50 rupee- Commemorative Stamp to mark its 110th Anniversary Celebration at the College premises on Friday January 16. It was held under the patronage of the Principal of the College M.M. Ahamed Nibras.
The Deputy Postmaster General (Operations ) Premachandra Herath presented the first copy of first day cover of stamp to the Principal of the College Ahamed Nibra ,followed by Principal Ahamed Nibras presented to the chief guest Zonal Director of Education P. R. Devabandu.
Past Pupils Association presented 2 million worth of solar panel installation projects to the college and Secretary of the PPA M.O.M. Fiyaz and members officially handed over the project to the Principal of the College. The chief guest and along with the principal cutting the 110th anniversary cake at this ceremony.
The secondary students prize giving were also held and chief guest Zonal Director of Education P. R. Devabandu presented gold medals and certificates to the students in various subjects.
Maligawatta Jumma Grand Mosque Chairman Dr. Razeen Anver, Deputy Chairman A.H.M. Mahir, National Council of YMMA Maligawatta Secretary Hazmil Hamdoon, Members of Darussalam College PPA and SDEC, Deputy Principal, Vice Principals, Teachers, Students, Parents and Past Pupils graced the event.
