
COLOMBO ; – On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Sri Lanka (1970–2025), the Embassy of Vietnam in Sri Lanka proudly presents the Viet Nam Film Show 2025 in Colombo, a vibrant cinematic journey inviting all international and Sri Lankan friends to explore the heart and soul of Viet Nam through its compelling films. This free-to-attend event promises three enchanting evenings of storytelling, offering a unique glimpse into the diverse landscapes, rich traditions, and human experiences that define Viet Nam.
The film show will run from Tuesday, July 22, to Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the prestigious Lighthouse Auditorium, Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute, located at 24 Horton Place, Colombo 7. Each evening will feature a thoughtfully curated program, beginning with an insightful documentary followed by a captivating feature film. The screening schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, July 22:
- 5:00 PM – 5:20 PM: “Da Lat – City of a Thousand Flowers”– A visual poem dedicated to Vietnam’s enchanting city of flowers.
- 5:20 PM – 7:00 PM: “Peach Blossom, Pho and Piano”– A feature film that intertwines cultural elements with a compelling narrative.
Wednesday, July 23: - 5:00 PM – 5:20 PM: “The Golden Season in Hoang Su Phi Highlands”– Discover the breathtaking beauty and agricultural wonders of Vietnam’s terraced rice fields.
- 5:20 PM – 7:30 PM: “A Wandering Lady”– A heartwarming tale of adventure and discovery.
Thursday, July 24: - 5:00 PM – 5:20 PM: “The Cultural Value of Coffee Beans”– Explore the profound cultural significance of Vietnam’s beloved coffee.
- 5:20 PM – 7:00 PM: “Childhood Moon”– A poignant reflection on the innocence and memories of youth.
The Embassy of Viet Nam extends a warm invitation to everyone in Colombo – both the local community and international residents – to partake in this cultural celebration. Entry to all screenings is completely free. Adding to the excitement, 20 first attendants of each screening session will have the chance to receive adorable Vietnamese souvenirs.
