COLOMBO : The Embassy of Indonesia together with The Sri Lanka-Indonesia Friendship Association (SLIFA) will be organizing a Cultural and Charity Bazaar on Saturday, September 2 at the premises of the Embassy of Indonesia, at 400/50, Sarana Road, Colombo 7 from 3.00 pm onwards.
All proceeds from this event will be in aid of charity.
This Cultural and Charity Bazaar is being organized for the second consecutive year. The first event was held in October 2022 and opened by Indonesian Ambassador Dewi Gustina Tobing. It was a tremendous success with over 2500 people attending the event.
Proceeds from last year’s event was used to purchase dry rations which was distributed amongst deserving families of all communities in the Western, Eastern, Southern and Central Provinces of Sri Lanka. Over 750 families benefited through this distribution. Her Excellency Madam Dewi Gustina Tobing, Ambassador of Indonesia and Ms Marleena Laxana, President of SLIFA were present at the distributions which were held in Colombo, Mattegoda, Moratuwa, Trincomalee, Hambantota, Kataragama, Nuwara Eliya, Maskeliya and Kandy.
This year the Bazaar will have over 50 stalls displaying and selling a wide range of products from Indonesia and Sri Lanka which includes food items, clothing, household items, handicrafts, cosmetics, fancy items, etc.
The event will feature a gala cultural show, which will have performances by artistes showcasing dance items, songs, music and other entertainment attractions from Indonesia and Sri Lanka.
The Bazaar will be an event for the whole family. Visit and enjoy the Bazaar with families and friends. Enjoy the performance of the traditional Indonesian and Sri Lankan dances, songs, musical instruments and cuisines.
There will be a children’s play area too and a nice spots to take photos.
