Muslims in Sri Lanka will begin Ramazan fasting from Sunday, March 2nd as the Colombo Grand Mosque announced Friday evening that the crescent for the holy month of Ramadan was not sighted.
The decision was taken at a meeting attended by President of the All Ceylon Jammiyyathul Ulema (the Supreme Council of Muslim Theologians of Sri Lanka) Ash Sheik M.I.M. Rizvi Mufthi , Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Director MSM Nawaz, and Colombo Grand Mosque President Thahir Razeen were present last evening after Maghrib prayers at the Colombo Grand Mosque.
