COLOMBO : The debate on the General Sir John Kotelawala National Defence University (KNDU) Bill which was slated for the debate this week will be taken up at a subsequent date, State Defense Minister Chamal Rajapaksa informed parliament on Wednesday, Ausgust 4.
He told this in parliament responding to a question raised by UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, who asked whether the Bill would be taken up for debate this Friday.
The Minister said the Bill would not be debated as he deemed that the MPs and people needed more time for consultations and opinions on the Bill.
He said the Bill would be debated on a later date.
