NEGOMBO: With the price hike in fuel, the private buses in Negombo were not operating in the area leaving the commuters to wait disappointment and frustration.
Meanwhile, the National Transport Commission (NTC) has announced a 35 percent increase in bus fares from midnight on Tuesday.
The Commission further said the minimum bus fare will be increased from Rs. 20 to Rs. 27.
The NTC revealed that the bus fare has been increased following a request made by the bus associations due to the hike in fuel prices
