NEGOMBO: A massive procession in memory of the victims of the Easter Sunday bomb blast was held in the coastal town of Negombo in the presence of the Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith on Thursday ,April 21.
The march demanded justice for the families which have lost their dear ones from the blasts three years ago,
The protest march started from St. Sebastian’s Church, Kattuvapitiya, Negombo, which was attacked by militants on April 21, 2019, and proceeded for about two hours through Kattuvapitiya Road, Colombo Road, Main Road and Greens Road and reached the venue.
Revealing the truth of the Easter attack, they raised slogans against the state and demanded justice to the families of the victims.
Community leaders from all faiths addressed the gathering and they all demanded that the perpetrators to the tragedy should be booked for punishment.
The Negombo supermarket was closed during the procession and black flags were seen at all shopping malls. Banners were hung in front of Muslim mosques and churches condemning the Easter Sunday attacks
