COLOMBO : The Colombo Times in cooperation with the Saudi –based Arab News hosted an Iftar reception to their friends and readers at the Mandarina Hotel in Colombo on Friday,April 7.
The Chief Editor of Colombo Times and Chief Correspondent for Arab News in Colombo Mohammed Rasooldeen received the guests including Foreign Minister Ali Sabry, Environment Minister Naseer Ahamed, Parliamentarian AHM Fowzie, ambassadors from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Turkiye, Malaysia, Russia, Vietnam, Maldives and Thailand and diplomats from India and UAE.






The attendees included the Hajj Committee Chairman Ibrahim Ansar, Traveller Global managing director Rizmi Reyal, Vice President of the Macksons Holding Nilrukshi and senior foreign ministry officials such as Ameer Ajwad, Sithara Khan and ULM Jouhar.
The meeting started with the welcome address by Ajra Azhar-Attorney-At-Law, who is the news editor-legal of the Colombo Times, followed by the reading out of the message of Faisal Abbas, Editor-in Chief of Arab News by Shabana Ibrahim-Editor of Colombo Times and then a screening of a documentary depicting the rapid progress made by Colombo Times within a short span of time.





Shaheera Rasooldeen, daughter of Mohammed Rasooldeen made a touching speech outlining how her father had sacrificed his time to bring Colombo Times to this prestigious level.
The sumptuous iftar and dinner was preceded by a speech by Rasooldeen thanking every invitee to make the event a grand success.
