COLOMBO – With the aim of raising funds for charity while promoting Vietnamese culture among the Sri Lankan people and foreign communities based in Colombo, the Embassy of Viet Nam in Sri Lanka also participated in the International Christmas Charity Bazaar (ICCB) 2024.
The Bazaar took place at the Galle Face Hotel on Sunday, November 24th, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm with the participation of around 30 countries and many charity organizations.
ICCB is one of Colombo’s most cherished annual events which blends diverse cultures, charity, and community spirit. The Embassy has been a consistent participant in this meaningful cause, over the past years.
At this year’s exposition, team Viet Nam provided everyone with a real Vietnamese shopping experience, featuring unique products and delicacies. Given the scarcity of Vietnamese products in local stores, visitors enjoyed distinct flavors of classic Vietnamese cuisines like pho, spring rolls, coffee, noodles, dried fruits of longan, jackfruit, lotus seed… while praising arts and crafts showcasing the country’s rich culture. The event also provided an opportunity for the Embassy staff and Vietnamese citizens in Colombo to engage with a diverse community.
What distinguishes this event is its commitment to bringing about the true meaning of Christmas, raising every penny for the benefit of people in need. Overwhelmed by the real spirit of giving and unity, the Embassy of Viet Nam will continue to support such meaningful endeavors.
