COLOMBO – The spirit of Ramadan was beautifully celebrated at a joint Iftar event organized by the SriLanka-Malaysia Business Council, Sri Lanka-Bangladesh Business Council, Sri Lanka-Pakistan Business Council, Sri Lanka-Indonesia Business Council, and the Sri Lanka-Maldives Business Council.
The event, held at the Kingsbury Hotel on Wednesday, March 19th, fostered a sense of unity and shared community during the holy month.
The evening was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Badli Hisham Adam, High Commissioner of Malaysia, Andalib Elias, High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Major General (R) Faheem Ul Aziz, HI (M), High Commissioner of Pakistan, Dewi Gustina Tobing, Ambassador of Indonesia and Masood Imad, High Commissioner of Maldives
The event also witnessed the participation of the leadership from the respective business councils Marshad Barry, President, Sri Lanka-Malaysia Business Council, Asanka Ratnayake, President, Sri Lanka-Bangladesh Business Council , Indra Kaushal Rajapaksa, President, Sri Lanka-Pakistan Business Council, Vish Govindasamy, President, Sri Lanka-Indonesia Business Council, Gerard Victoria, Vice President, Sri Lanka-Indonesia Business Council, and Sudesh Mendis, President, Sri Lanka-Maldives Business Council
The joint Iftar provided an opportunity for members of the business community, diplomats, and other distinguished guests to come together, break their fast, and strengthen bonds of friendship and cooperation.
One of the highlights of the evening was a raffle draw, generously sponsored by Fits Air and Ocean Trade and Logistics Pvt Ltd, adding an element of excitement and appreciation to the gathering.
The organizing business councils expressed their sincere gratitude to all the sponsors and participants for their contributions in making the event a resounding success. The event underscored the importance of cultural exchange and collaboration among nations, particularly during the sacred month of Ramadan.
