The CID intends to seek the advice of Attorney General Dappula de Livera on whether or not to arrest the Leader of National Unity Front (NUF), Azath Salley. CID sources said they had already sent a case file against Salley to the AG as well. Recently, a probe had been initiated against the NUF Leader based on complaints lodged over several extremist remarks the latter had made.
As a result a CID probe was launched headed by an ASP.
Minister of Public Security Rear Admiral (retired) Sarath Weerasekera had also claimed that Salley should be arrested for uttering extremist remarks aimed at bringing disunity among different communities. (ct)
It is pathetic to see this kind of arrest.any political enemies can be arrested like this .
Now we can see more and more arrest and white van culture too.
Where is freedom of expression?
Where is democracy?
Is this Chinese democracy?
Or desperate situations to cover main problems that the government faces today..
