COLOMBO : A three-member delegation from the Saudi Fund Dor Development(SFD) arrived on Colombo on Monday morning, December 26 to attend a series of events organized in Sri Lanka coordinated by the Saudi embassy and the ministry of finance here.
The delegation is led by the SFD CEO Sultan bin Abdul Rahman Al-Murshed.On arrival,Al-Murshed was received by the Saudi Ambassador in Colombo Abdulnasser Al-Harthi and finance ministry officials.
The embassy said in a press statement published today (Sunday): To complete the implementation of the loans provided by Saudi Arabia for financing development projects provided by the Republic of Sri Lanka, within the framework of the distinguished relations between the two leaderships and peoples, a delegation from the Saudi Fund for Development.
CEO Sultan bin Abdul Rahman Al-Murshed, will inaugurate the project “Improvement of Peradeniya-Badulla-Chenkaladi Road” and will also lay the foundation stone for the project “Development of the Wayamba University District” which will set up a medical faculty in the university. The CEO is also expected to sign a few MOUs with Colombo government to expand the areas of cooperation between the two countries, the statement added.
