COLOMBO ; During the 53rd National Day celebrations of3recently at Shangri La hotel in Colombo, copies of the book on the bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Oman titled: “Sri Lanka – Oman Relations: Past, Present and Future” authored by Ambassador O. L. Ameer Ajwad, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the former Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Sultanate of Oman, was presented by the Omani Ambassador to Sri Lanka Ahmed AlRashdi to the chief guest, Minister of Education Susil Pramajayantha who represented the Government of Sri Lanka at the event and other dignitaries including Cabinet Ministers, State Ministers, Parliamentarians and invited guests who graced the occasion.
Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman Sayyid Badr AlBusaidi has written a forward to this book which traces historical relations between Sri Lanka and the Sultanate of Oman and sketches the bilateral relations in five chapters that bring out its past, illustrates its present and charts a roadmap for future cooperation between the two countries.
