COLOMBO : The Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL), in collaboration with Sri Lanka Tourism, has initiated a project to construct a temporary marquee structure as an interim solution to address the current capacity constraints at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).
The Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited said in a statement ; “ We have observed a growing number of requests from our valued international airline partners seeking to increase flight frequencies to BIA and to upgrade to wide-body aircraft.”
As a short-term measure to support this growing demand and ensure smooth passenger facilitation during the upcoming winter season, the statement further said that 12 additional check-in counters will be made operational from November 1.
This initiative reflects our continued commitment to enhancing passenger convenience, operational efficiency, and the overall travel experience at BIA, the statement concluded.
