

COLOMBO : Bangladesh Pavillion, put up by the Bangladesh High Commission in Colombo for the three-day Vesak Festival, showcases the rich Buddhist Heritage of Bangladesh.
Photographs of ancient Buddhist temples and relics as well as latest Buddhist temples and Lord Buddha’s statues spread across various parts of Bangladesh are on display. Screening of documentaries captures the lifestyle of Buddhists in Bangladesh and their rituals.
The coffee table books on display provides in depth description and photographic illustrations of the Buddhist heritage.
Every day since its opening on 5 May, the Pavillion is being visited by a large number of people many of whom are pleasantly surprised to see the richness of Bangladesh’s Buddhist Heritage.
Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Prime Minister Dinesh Gunwardena were among the many dignitaries who visited the Pavilion.
