COLOMBO : High Commissioner of Bangladesh Tareq Md Ariful Islam called on the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) Capt. Nihal Keppetipola on Thursday, July 08th at the Chairman’s office in Colombo .
The Chairman of SLPA and the High Commissioner shared views on the current state of the shipping industry in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
The Chairman Capt. Nihal Keppetipola said that Bangladesh is a friendly country to Sri Lanka as well as a long-standing customer of the Port of Colombo. He also commended Bangladesh support in making the Port of Colombo a hub port in South Asia.
He emphasized the importance of bilateral and regional strategic cooperation and coordination for the future development of the regional shipping industry.
