DHAKA : Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sent a consignment of 1,000kgs of Haribhangha mangoes as gifts to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa on Saturday.
The cargo landed at Colombo airport on Saturday,July 9 via SriLankan Airlines. Two foreign ministry officials and senior officials from the Bangladesh High Commission in Colombo were present when the cargo landed on Saturday afternoon. Besides the mangoes, the Bangladesh prime minister had sent special gifts to the Sri Lankan president and the premier, according to sources from the airport
On Thursday, Bangladesh sent 2,600 kg of Haribhanga mangoes for Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
The mangoes were sent to Kolkata in trucks through Benapole Port yesterday. After leaving some for the West Bengal chief minister, the rest will be taken from Kolkata to Delhi by Rajdhani Express.
