COLOMBO : Bangladesh high commissioner Tareq Mohd. Ariful Islam and his wife Aliya Nur hosted a dinner banquet to mark their country’s national new year at his residence on Friday,May 12.
The dinner table was laid with traditional Bangladesh cuisine prepared home-made by the wives of diplomats and embassy officials.
Members of the diplomatic corps, professionals and members of the business community attended the event. Foreign secretary Aruni Wijewardena and senior ministry officials also were present.
Minister of Buddhasasana and Religious and Cultural affairs, Vidura Wickremanayake and Minister of Transport and highways Bandula Gunawardena were also present at the function.
