COLOMBO : Australia’s commitment to working with Indian Ocean partners was underscored during the 2024 Indian Ocean Conference, hosted by Australia in Perth in February 2024. Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong and counterparts from across the region, including Sri Lanka’s former President Wickremesinghe, reaffirmed the value of working together to address shared security, climate and economic challenges.
