

COLOMBO : Akio ISOMATA, Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka, visited Rajarata University on 10th February, where he toured the Japanese Language Laboratory which was donated by the Government of Japan and held discussions with the Acting Vice Chancellor, faculty members, and students.
During his visit to the Japanese Language Laboratory, Ambassador ISOMATA engaged with students studying the Japanese language, encouraging them to continue with their language journey and highlighting the benefits of learning the Japanese language such as opening up job opportunities in Japan and promoting mutual understanding between the two countries. He also appreciated the contribution by Ms. NAGAI, a JICA Volunteer stationed at the university, to enhancing the quality of Japanese language education at Rajarata University.
Following his tour of the language laboratory, Ambassador ISOMATA met with the Acting Vice Chancellor and faculty members of Rajarata University, where they discussed academic collaboration and future opportunities for educational exchanges between Japan and Sri Lanka.
The visit reflects the strong educational and cultural ties between Japan and Sri Lanka, underscoring the importance of people-to-people exchanges in enhancing bilateral relations. The Embassy of Japan will continue to support initiatives that promote language learning and academic cooperation between the two countries.
