
BERUWELA — The 11th General Assembly of Rabithathun Naleemiyyeen, the alumni association of Jamiah Naleemiyyah, Beruwala, was held successfully on Sunday July 26 at the Naleemiyyah College Conferenvce Hall under the chairmanship of the association’s President, Attorney-at-Law Ash-Sheikh R. Shakir (Naleemi).
The event was graced by Yaqooth Naleem, Chairman of the Board of Management of Naleemiyyah College, as the Chief Guest. The Principal of the college, Ash-Sheikh A.C. Agar Mohamed, attended as the Guest of Honour. Also in attendance were members of the Board of Management, lecturers, and a large gathering of alumni.
Held under the theme, “Let Us Unite, Let Us Rise Together,” the assembly featured several inspiring speeches highlighting the importance of unity, service, and the continued contribution of alumni to the institution and the wider community.
A special highlight of the event was the recognition of Ash-Sheikh Kamarussaman, a recently retired teacher who dedicated many years of distinguished service to Naleemiyyah College. In appreciation of his invaluable contributions, the organisers presented him with a commemorative memento and a cash award.
The gathering also witnessed the participation of a large number of alumni serving in Sri Lanka and abroad, reflecting the strength and unity of the Naleemiyyah alumni network.
The session concluded with the election of the association’s new office bearers for the current year.
