COLOMBO : Parents of WP/Minu/Al Aman Muslim Maha Vidyalaya have lodged their strong protest at recognizing the neighbouring Aligarh Maha Vidyalaya for a National School instead of their school which enjoys a strength of 1,100 students.
Speaking on behalf of Al Aman Maha Vidyalaya parents, a parent told Colombo Times that this is not fair to recognize a school which does not have the required basic facilities for a National School status.
“ Al Aman has the required strength of students as well as all the facilities to qualify for a National School,” he said, pointing out that they have made several unsuccessful attempts tp tell this discontent to Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunge who is the MP for the Minuwangoda electorate.
is located 1.7 km away from the Minuwangoda zonal office and have more than thousand students with relevant feasibility for the expansion of infrastructure facilities, availability of adequate land for future development projects, socio-economic conditions so on. Why this particular school is not being consider for this programme is questionable and suspicious arises
that may be the political vengeance or the inconsiderate of authorities.
Al Aman M.M.V has the acceptable criteria considered for selection of schools to be upgraded to national school level. For the betterment of future generations. Past pupils, wellwishes and villagers request to consider their school for this project.Hon.Mr. Parasanna Ranathuga Minister of Tourism served to develop the school since before. People request minister by an effort to put an end to the ongoing matter over this that would be great service for the future society.
