

COLOMBO: The President of the All-Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama, ACJU, As-Sheikh M I M Rezwie Mufti said here that the tragedy in Turkey and Syria had shocked the Sri Lankans in all parts of the island and their prayers are always with the dead and wish the victims to recover from their trauma soon and help them recover quickly as possible.
As Sheikh Mufti who went to sign the book of condolence at the Turkiye embassy on Friday, Feb10 told the Turkiye ambassador , Demet Sekercioglu that the people of Sri Lanka were thoroughly shaken by the consequences of the earthquake which has already killed more than 18,000 men, women and children
“ We pray to Almighty Allah that all our brethren who lost their lives in this tragedy to be compensated with Paradise (Jannah), their families and loved ones to be blessed with solace and tranquility and those who were injured to be granted speedy recovery,” As Sheikh Mufthi said/
In his Friday Jumma sermon, As Sheikh Mufti said: “ During such critical trials, Islam guides one to engage in good deeds such as prayers, fasting, Sadaqa (charity), Dhikr (remembrance of Allah), Isthighfar (seeking forgiveness), Sadaqa (charity) and to seek forgiveness for the victims and to perform Janaza prayers for them.
As Sheikh Mufti also urged interested philanthropists to send their cash donations to the bank account specified by the mission.
