COLOMBO : In the light of recent credible information received by the U.S. Embassy regarding a potential attack targeting popular tourist locations in the Arugam Bay area, . Azath S. Salley Former Governor of the Western Province, Sri Lanka has urged the relevant authorities to investigate the situation and take immediate measures to ensure public safety.
“ This matter, raised by a reliable source, is of critical importance as we are on the verge of both election season and a significant influx of tourists,” Salley added.
“ It is essential that every precaution is taken to protect both our citizens and international visitors. I call on all relevant agencies to act swiftly and ensure that comprehensive safety protocols are put in place. By doing so, we can uphold the integrity of the election process and maintain the positive momentum of the upcoming tourism season.
“ I also encourage the public to remain vigilant, report any suspicious activity to local authorities, and follow safety advisories issued by relevant entities.”
