COLOMBO :On the occasion of the 158th Police Day, the Maligawatte Police Station organized a special rehearsal conference Sunday,Sept.(09) at the Grand Hall, Maligawatte .
The event was designed to support 200 students from Rajasinghe Vidyalaya, Darusalam Vidyalaya, Baron Jayathilaka Vidyalaya, and Hemamalee Balika Vidyalaya, who are preparing for the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination in 2024. Sponsored by the Bank of Ceylon and with the valuable contribution of veteran educator Dr. Krishantha Abeyratne, this program was not only educational but also psychologically enriching the children. Each student received prizes, enjoyed meals, and participated in fun activities.
In addition to supporting the students, the event also provided lectures for their parents on child abuse prevention and traffic laws. Colombo Central Assistant Superintendent of Police 3, Mr. Chanaka Abeysirigunawardena, graced the event as the chief guest. The program was a great success, thanks to the leadership of Bhathia Jayasinghe, Station OIC of Maligawatta Police, and the dedicated efforts of his officers.
