



CAIRO : A two-day international conference organized by the Dar Al-Ifta- Egypt, under the umbrella of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide in Egypt under the theme, ‘Fatwa and Moral Construction in an Accelerating World’ under the leadership of Dr. Shawki Allam, Grand Mufti of Egypt and President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide on the 29th and 30th of July, 2024 in Cairo.
Representing All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU), it’s President Mufti M.I.M. Rizwe and Ash-Shaikh Akram Abul Hassan, member of the ACJU Fatwa Committee participated in this International Conference, which was attended by prominent Muftis, Religious Scholars, Philosophers, Authors and political representatives from more than 100 countries around the world, reflecting broad international participation.
This objective of this Conference was based on Fatwa and Ethics, to foster dialogue and collaboration among international community. It seeks to explore how Fatwas can support the ethical system, reinforce shared human values, and address urgent moral challenges amid global conflicts and crises.
Based on these objectives, the Conference decided to compile and publish scientific evidence demonstrating that there is no separation between Fatwas and ethics.
The conference also underscored the significance of Muftis and religious scholars who issue religious opinions, emphasizing the need to consider Fatwas, ethics, and internationalism in their decision-making process.
The conference highlighted the importance Islam places on ethics and stressed the need for Muftis and religious scholars to observe and practice ethical values when issuing Fatwas.
Most importantly, the conference drew attention to the Muslims suffering in Palestine and Gaza and called on the international community to find a just solution for them.
