

COLOMBO : On a request made by the Puttalam Hospital, the Kollupitiya Mosque Federation launched a blood donation campaign in Puttalam town recently.
Chairman of the Federation Rizan Hussein told Colombo Times that there was a huge response from the locals in the coastal town of Puttalam.
“ A total of 51 turned up for the donation and the donors were people from all communities who willingly donated their blood for this worthy cause,” Hussain said.
The campaign was organized by his federation in coordination with the local mosques, and Buddhist and Hindu temples.
The Puttalam blood bank thanked the Kollupitiya Mosque Federation for organizing the blood donation at the Town Hall followed by a reception at the Monsoon Villa .
