COLOMBO : Saudi Ambassador Khalid bin Hamoud Alkahtani handed a gift of 50 tons of dates from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz to Sri Lanka.
The Secretary to the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Sri Lanka Somaratne W Pathirana , Director of the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Faizal Abdeenl and Ibrahim bin Muhammad Al-Harbi, representative of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.
The Secretary to the Ministry of Religious Affairs expressed his thanks and gratitude for the valuable humanitarian aid provided by the Kingdom to his country.
This gift comes within the programs provided by the Kingdom’s government under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister for a number of brotherly and friendly countries.
Saudi ambassador AlKahtani stressed.the need for stronger bilateral relations through people to people contacts.
Ambassador designate to Saudi Arabia Ameer Ajwad in his brief speech said that the Kingdom has been with Sri Lanka in good and bad times. He said Ambassador AlKahtani is one of the best ambassadors Sri Lanka ever had. “ With his presence in Sri Lanka I will be able to strengthen the bilateral relations to new heights.,”he concluded .photos ASM JAVID
