COLOMBO : On the occasion of the 75th birth anniversary of the late leader M. H. M. Ashraf, the Ashraf Memorial Day speech was made at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall under the leadership of former Governor and National Unity Alliance leader Azath Salley.
Former Lankan President Chandrika Bandaranaike delivered the keynote address at the event.
Besides Azath Salley, late leader Ashraff’s son; Aman Ashraf, Member of Parliament M A Sumanthran, former Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya addressed the gathering.
Former President Maithripala Sirisena, Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena and former Minister Ferial Ashraf were also present on the main stage.
Ashraf’s family members, ministers, members of parliament, foreign ambassadors, leaders of all faiths religions and members of the National Unity Alliance were seen in large numbers on the occasion.
