COLOMBO — The student of Ananda Balika Vidyalaya Ayushmanthya Irajini Karunarathne who won a Gold Medal at the South Asia Karate Championship 2023 at Kathmandu, Nepal on 3rd December was felicitated at her school.
The felicitation ceremony was held at the school premises on Tuesday December 12. It was held under the patronage of Principal W.B.G. Kumudini.
The welcome ceremony was held in a procession from Maligakanda Junction to school premises with the school band.
Deputy Principal D.N. Sumanasena, Vice Principals Manjula Dissanayake, Udayani Pathirana, teacher in charge Kumudu Perera, Sandunika Peiris, Fathima Ijasa, along with coach Wasantha Senevirathna, Kumudu Priyanka, Prefects and Old Girls Association Treasurer Ranoja De Silva Janaranji Liyanage, Commonwealth Games 2018 Weightlifting Bronze Medalist Chamari Warnakulasuriya, Head Prefect Oshindi Nethara, teachers and students were also present.
