COLOMBO : I have the honour to convey my warm felicitations and congratulations to Your Excellency on the occasion of the 78th National Day celebration of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Vietnam and Sri Lanka have been enjoying warm and cordial relations based on friendship, culture, values and mutual cooperation for several centuries. It is my sincere hope that this relationship will be further broadened and elevated for the benefit of our two countries and peoples. Cooperation in the spheres of political, economic, investment, defense, trade, agriculture, education, tourism and cultural engagements could be further exploited and enhanced for the benefit of both countries and peoples.
The outstanding accomplishments of Vietnam, after Doi Moi reforms have been commended and unequivocally acknowledged by the region as well as by the rest of the world, since they transformed and translated the reforms to tangible and perceptible economic, political and social utility. Today the contribution extended by Vietnam in the realms of regional and multilateral forums for augmentation and expansion of peace and stability as well as economic and commercial activity on a global scale are well recognized, documented and valued.
Please accept, Excellency, my sincere best wishes for your personal well-being, happiness and every success in all your endeavors and assurances of my highest consideration.
