COLOMBO – Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation Nimal Siripala de Silva said on Friday June 30 that the commencement of passenger boat service between India and Sri Lanka will be delayed.
The minister pointed out that India has changed the port it had chosen for the boat service.
The minister also said that India has requested for a few more days to increase the facilities at the Nagapatnam port which has been selected for that purpose.
The Minister also adds that due to the inadequate size of the runway of the Palali Airport, there are problems in landing planes carrying more than 65 passengers.
