Legendary actress Sowcar Janaki, who holds a record of acting in more than 385 films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi,
Janaki began her film career in the 50s with her first Telugu movie Shavukar opposite N. T. Rama Rao. She has also played roles of leading heroines opposite A. Nageswara Rao, Jaggaiah, Sivaji Ganesan, M.G.R, Gemini Ganesan and many others. She has served as a Jury member at National Indian Films awards committee and as chairperson at State Telugu Films awards committee.
