
COLOMBO : Editor of Colombo Times Mohammed Rasooldeen was specially honoured at the World Journalists Conference concluded recently in Seoul.
More than 50 journalists from 48 countries attended the week-long conference and field visits organized by the Journalists Association in Korea headed by its president Dong Hoon-Kim.
The farewell banquet was hosted by the Incheon Metropolitan city Mayor Yeo Jeong Bok.
Mayor Bok presented a memento to Rasooldeen during the dinner banquet at a hotel in the Incheon Metropolitan city.
Rasooldeen, a senior journalist from Sri Lanka who was attached to Arab News in Saudi for more than three decades, was the only journalist honoured at the farewell dinner hosted by the Incheon city father. Rasooldeen was also given the opportunity to propose the toast on behalf of all participating journalists from different parts of the world.
As a gateway to Korea, Incheon is a city open to the world as it boasts both Incheon Port and Incheon International Airport. It is growing into a world-class city with a population of 3 million, including wide plains and mountains, the sea, and numerous islands large and small.
