DOHA: Under the auspices of CFW Qatar, Sky Tamil in collaboration with Qatar Muththamil Mandram held a Kaviyarangu (Recitals of Tamil poems) under the chairmanship of Najmul Hussain, President of Valampuri Kavitha Vattam, a national organisation of Tamil poets of Sri Lanka, in Qatar.
Najmul Hussain was in Qatar on a short visit. Sri Lankan poets who reside in Qatar Meyyan Nadaraj, Palakathurai M. Y. M. Sheriff, Palamunai Rizwan, Hemmathagama Sameen, Kahotowita Nihaza Nizar, Tunduwa Hazeena Munzir and Indian poets Thirunelveli S. Siva Sankar, Puthugai Sikkanthar, Trichy Jones Ramanaj participated in this session conducted by Najmul Hussain.

Book introduction ceremony was also held. “MINNUM THARAKAIKAL” written by former Information Officer of Govt. Information dept. Kalabhoosanam Noorul Ain Najmul Hussain, which was released in Sri Lanka was introduced in Qatar. The book speaks about the female Muslim writers of Sri Lanka.

Muthalib, Manager- Qatar Islamic Bank, Mohamed Akram, Chairman-CWF, Qatar, Guru Sri, Vijay Anand, Qatar Muththamil Mandram, Sobha Raj, President, Solventharkal Mandram, Waliullah, Halidh, Secretary, Consolidated Tamil Federation, Ameerdeen Moulana, President, All Qatar Federation, Sri Lankan novelist Jareena Musthafa, Sky Tamil Director J. M. Basith, Manager Aswer Risvi, Qatar – Puttalam Association President Saajid Jiffry, Qatar Residing Sri Lankan Ladies Association Asst. Secretary Mohanapriya Prasad were among who graced the occasion.
