COLOMBO : Muslim Ladies College- Colombo was crowned the Overall Champions of the event and received champion shield from chief guest at the Amal International School Awards Ceremony of “ Etihad’ 20 ”- All island Inter-school Islamic Day competitions.
The Etihad’ 20 had the participation of over 600 students from over 60 schools across the country and 120 students from 27 different schools had been felicitated with medals , certificates and trophies at the awards ceremony.
M.T.M.Nafeel, who is a founding member and the current President of Centre for Islamic studies (CIS) graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The event also had the participation of the Chairman of the Board of Management of the school M.A.M. Hakeem along with other members of the Board of Management, Chief operating officer Vikum Priyalal, Vice Principals Mrs. Muna Suby and Mrs. Minsharf Imthiaz, Sectional Heads, members of the school staff and the old boys’ association were also present.
The awards ceremony had a variety of events exhibited such as Qirath, Islamic songs and speeches
