COLOMBO : Parliamentarian and former minister Wimal Weerawansa’s wife Shashi Weerawansa, who was accused of submitting forged documents to obtain a diplomatic passport, was sentenced to two-year rigorous imprisonment on Friday, May 27.
When the case was taken up om Friday, the Colombo Magistrate’s Court also imposed a fine of Rs. 100,000 on the accused in addition to the jail sentence.
