COLOMBO : Parliamentarians Sanath Nishantha, Milan Jayatilleke and four others have been further remanded until June 01 by the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court.
These suspects who were arrested in connection with the May 09 attacks on peaceful protesters at ‘MinaGoGama’ in Kollupitiya and ‘GotaGoGama’ at Galle Face, were produced before the court on Wednesday.May 25.
Meanwhile magistrate Thilina Gamage further ordered that six more suspects to be produced for the identification parade be remanded until the 27th of May and that they be produced for an identification parade on that day.
The Magistrate also directed the IGP to inform the court regarding the failure to transfer Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province Deshabandu Tennakoon as requested by the Attorney General.
Meanwhile, the Magistrate today also ordered the release on bail of four suspects including a woman who were not identified by witnesses during the identification parade held today.
