ISLAMABAD(KMS): The Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has strongly rejected the Modi government’s so-called Delimitation Commission’s recommendations and decisions to turn Muslim majority status of the territory into a minority.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad termed the Commission’s recommendations and decisions against the international law, UN resolutions and constitutional guarantees and different agreements between India and Pakistan.
He said that it was a Hitlarian persecuting campaign and a Zionists’ method to make the occupied territory a Hindu racist territory in the garb of so-called delimitation process.
He warned that the recommendations were fraught with formidable dangers and this majority Muslim territory could be turned into a Hindu majority within next 5-10 years. It’s clear that Hindutva in India and Zionism in Israel were two faces of the same coin and Kashmiris would never allow their land to be made a hotbed of Hindu racist policies of RSS, he added.
Farooq Rehmani said the UN resolutions and the principles of the UN Charter should be invoked and necessary steps be taken by Pakistan and Organistion of Islamic Cooperation in this regard. The most important step towards it would be a world conference by major States like Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan and the OIC Contact Group on Kashmir to prevent the Modi regime from implementing the Delimitation Commission’s report on Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Pasban-e-Hurriyat, Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, in a statement issued in Muzaffarabad said the redrawing of constituencies in IIOJK is a conspiracy to impose the Hindutva ideology of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He said the Delimitation Commission was set up by the Indian government with an aim to turn the Muslim majority in IIOJK into a minority. He added that by adding six seats in the assembly, particularly in Hindu-dominated areas, the Modi regime wants to take over the territory.
