COLOMBO — The Sri Lanka Association of Administrative and Professional Secretaries (SLAAPS) celebrated the International Administrative Professionals Week from 25-29, April 2022 followed by a series of events Flag Day, Awarding of Scholarships and the Secretaries fellowship night.
The Administrative Professionals Week flag day was held at the Embassy of Turkey graced by Her Excellency R. Demet Şekercioğlu- Ambassador of the Republic of Türkey to Sri Lanka and Maldives. The pinning of the flag was done by the Interim President of SLAAPS Azra Reyaldeen
SLAAPS is the only registered association for Secretaries and Administration Professionals in Sri Lanka. The Association was founded in 1978 by the late Eric B M De Silva, with the objective of elevating the standards of Secretaries and Administration Professionals from various industries in order to network, acknowledge and recognize their value, image and competencies.
An awarding of scholarship was also done by the ambassador to a deserving student which will be fully funded by the Association.
Vice President Ruchira Abeywardena, Secretary ShIreen Rajee , Treasurer Nirmalee Fernando, Trustee and Advisor Gwendoline Nilaweera, Immediate Past President Sandra Thomasz and PA to the Ambassador Kanchana Rajapaksha were also present.
