The opposition alliance Progressive Congress Coalition has announced that they would be holding their first rally since their leader, former President Abdulla Yameen was released following an overturn on his conviction by the Supreme Court of Maldives.
The rally is scheduled to be held on 03rd December 2021 at 20:30 at the Carnival area. The rally will mark the first-time former President Abdulla Yameen has addressed at a public rally since his incarceration in November 2019.
The former President Abdulla Yameen, known for his progressive economic policies and his oratory skills is already marked as the strongest candidate in the upcoming Presidential Election in 2023. Public polls by independent parties already show that the public support for incumbent President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is at an all-time low while support for the opposition leader is at its highest.
