COLOMBO : Wahabdeen Marikkar Mohamed Ziyard (Attorney-at-law, Retired Chief Legal Officer Bank of Ceylon) passed away at 80, in his hometown of Panadura on Monday, November 15, and funeral took place on the same day after Asr prayers.
Ziyard, who was an active social worker, had also served the YMMA Maligawatte as a member of the board of governors in the eighties.
Ziyard was the husband of Zahira Ziyard (retired finance director of land reform commission),son of Marhoom Wahabdeen Marikkar and Marhooma Ummul Ayna, father of Riazzi and Rifka, brother of Marhoom Sahid, Marhoom Jameel, Marhoom Sinam, Marhoom Uvaiymeen, Hamzul Sakiya, Marhooma Raihanathul Hibshiyyah Saneer, Marhooma Ummul Majida, father-in-law of Fazila Mohamed, grandfather of Raidaa and Zahra.
