COLOMBO: To cope with the rising incidence of Covid cases, the government has temporarily converted the Naleemiah Institute of Islamic Studies, in China Fort,Beruwela, into a Covid treatment facility, the government sources said here on Friday.
According to officials, 270 patients can be treated at the improvised facility at the Institute.
Minister of Ports and Shipping, Rohitha Abeygunawardena inspected the institute on Friday which is now being converted into a treatment facility to meet the emergency situation.
During the past seven days, the daily Covid cases exceed over 1,700 patients.
